Tolmie Peak Summit, Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington State. Rainer pauses for lunch and the view at the fire lookout tower on the summit of Tolmie Peak on the Northwest side of Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington. With 1,200 feet of elevation gain over 7.2 miles round trip it’s a moderate hike, with fantastic views of the north face of Mt. Rainier. The trail starts at Mowich Lake and passes Eunice Lake (visible below) before ascending to Tolmie Peak. There are huckleberries and wildflower meadows on the south side on the way up.
